I recently picked up this '73 Pig as a non runner and have spent the last couple weeks getting to know the engine compartment very well.PO said that it had just died while idling in the driveway about 7 months ago. After the dust cleared I had new points, condencer, plugs, coil and I rebuilt the Rochester carb. There was also a warped exhaust manifold so I installed an intake/exhaust manifold from a 2F.She is running perfectly now.
On the list of things to do are change all fluids, get new hoses under the hood, pull all the drums and check the brakes.I'm also going to get it on a lift and clean and spray everything with some rust killing product.
The PO had the remote oil filter mounted to the three bolt holes below the carb on the intake manifold. The 2F manifold doesn't have this mounting location.I'm thinking of mounting it on the inner fender.Any one have a remote oil filter location they could share? Drivers side on this rig.
As you can see in the pics the PO did take good care of it in his 18 years as owner.Dash is excellent as is the headliner. The body has been deteriorating and he's patched it up along the way.
I'm going to clean up the body some and throw on some primer and paint to get it looking good then just drive it - alot.
