Ok, was working at changing the body mount donuts and have already broken first 2 bolts :frown:.........mine are very rusty and although had sprayed them with Kroil and PB blaster; 2 snapped..........C-Dan is out and other prices are over 10$ for a used bolt:frown: also a bit unsure about the size as mine are still up in the donut:bang: 40/55 forum has the spread sheet size as MM10X1.25 X 50 MMs in length but I think this is for the FJ40s...and it sounds a bit short:hhmm:;
any source for New body mount bolts?......... TIA

I don't know the size I used for my rear body mounts when I replaced the mounts and sill - but all I did was take the donut to the hardware store and buy a couple of grade 8 bolts that barely fit through the donut and were the correct length. There is almost no way I'm getting those bolts out now with how I have them in. I'll look through my "grade 8 bolts box" and see if I can find an extra.

original body mount bolt length

Hey Ty; that was one of the problems I was having; the damn bolts were rusted to the holes and although I got the bottom first couple of nuts off; the top hex head snapped off:bang: and scared to keep going unless I have a source of bolts; would much prefer to keep them original JIS toyota standard 'cause of possible interfering with the rear two that are hard to get at anyway and the standard DIN ones I found locally are 17 mm heads...original toyotas are 14 mm heads and in most places it would not be a problem except those last rear two......would hate to break one of those off......just thinking about having to drill one out there gives me the willies; so I figured I would begin with the easier ones:crybaby: I finally got someone at Wurth USA WURTH USA Inc. - Home"Sissi" that was very helpfull; they do Have JIS standard hardware but the minimum order is 15 bolts and am not sure about the length:confused:

How do you get out the bolts that are rusted to the frame holes? It seems that area at the front mounts always gets rusted out and they look impossible to remove. Sorry if this a highjack, ty

I'll need new bolts as well, if you run into MOQ issues I'm sure we could do a group buy.
I've just about destroyed the DS front bolt already.

Where did you get your new donuts?

Lance @ IPOR sent me a long donut of some type of poly material which I hacksawed into slices.

donuts I think came from Man A fre; but it was a couple of years ago so might be SOR stuff.....will see what the pices and availability are when C-Dan comes back;

Lou - I found a few original body mount bolts from my parts pig - came across 2 different sizes. 100MM and 125MM in length. 10MM width. The length of threaded portion is about 35MM(short bolt) and 25MM on the longer one.

pig body mount bolts are longer

:wrench:Thanks for confirming what I suspected all along:hhmm:; the body mount bolts on the nuts and bolt spread sheet are listed as 10mm x 1.25x 50mm.......just didn't see any way that those bolts were 50mms; do you know how much are needed of each size? ......+ we need to add this info to the nuts and bolts thread on the 40/55 tech section...........TIA

n2666s - I do not know how many of each size bolts are needed as some of the hardware/body mount bushings are still attached to the frame(which is distanced) I will check out the remnants of this pig in a few days. Good luck in the meantime.

Dusty, thanks for the followup; did get in touch with C-Dan and he shows the back 4 bolts still in stock.....:confused:are they different??.....originals are 5 1/4 inches long are there different sizes? TIA
