Thanks Dave. The old color had to go.... I had the shop leave the zolatone on and shoot over it. that left a duraback like texture to the grey. white is all smooth except for the roof, which was rhino lined.... it came out pretty well for a cheapy job

Jake,

Unique looking for sure. I love the standard two tones of red/white, blue/white etc but yours stands out nicely.....mind sharing what a cheapy job cost these days? Dave

mine was red n white originally, but the PO had a very complete zolatone job done to it in the 90s. ie underneath the hood door jams, wheel wells, etc, a complete color change. too much to redo. I dont have the place or ability to spray at my place. the local Maaco has a good rep and I had them do it, basically shooting the grey where the zolatone was and the white where the light blue grey was. I had them fix a dent on the tailgate and a small rust spot on the left front fender. I removed all the emblems and grills, lights etc before I delivered. All done, it cost around $800.00. I am satisfied as it looks better than it did and if I would have tried to spray it myself, I would have spent almost that much getting equipment and paint, etc plus i dont know how to do it so it would have most likely looked like crap...

OTOH, if it wasgoing to be a trail rig only instead of a semi daily driver, I would have rattlecanned it like I have my other rigs....

Does that gray have a code that you can share?

Looks really good

Jake, that looks really great. what a transformation. BTW, I am thinking of heading up to disney this weekend for a little trail ride, you are welcome to join in and stretch the pigs legs if you want. nothing too crazy, we wouldn't want to scrape that fancy new paint job
