Bought 2 of these stainless beer kegs to bring with me camping for fire pit/ ring for campsites that wont let you have open fire? this one is 21" tall and 15" diameter, my other one is a pony keg so same diameter but only 15" tall. nice tuff fire pits, will last forever double lined. this one I bought today was used as a peanut boiler/ boiled peanuts. $20 so I had to take it with me!!!

Kinda bulky for dragging around in your truck, don't you think?

Otherwise, I would think it could be great, not only as a fire pit but as a grill. Cut some ventilation holes near the bottom for add'l air to feed the fire and you'd be good.

Take a grinder or rezip saw and go to town, cut in in half...otherwise you will have a fire but won't see it... that or take some 40 ounze beers...with their own paper bags and stand around the fire with mits...or gloves..... enjoy...

Haha, just kidding. What a great idea! The ventilation holes are already there!!!

Roberto,

Since you bought two of them, maybe you want to send the other one my way so I can have it for Thanksgiving fire pit in my backyard.:D
