Picacho SRA question

For those who have been to Picacho SRA:

Is that part of the river good for ski boats? Can we shore camp there and keep the boat tied up on shore in front of camp?

From the pics and previous trip reports here, it looks like an amazing place, but we want to take the boat. Thanks

I dont know if you can tie up there. They have a dock down at the south campground that would work better for that i believe. Best bet is to call the ranger and find out for sure. We did once have 5 canoes roll up on our camp to use the bathrooms.. it was pretty weird and we felt "taken over". The part we like about that spot is that there aren't any jet boats and drunk kids hauling butt up and down the river. That being said, we've been there on Labor day, and there are some boats.. just not like Havasu.

Thanks. I'll called the ranger station today and left a vm. Haven't heard back. We are going in a few weeks. I hadn't heard of the place until I read your trip reports - so thanks for that. Looks amazing...

I think it's going to close soon. I want to see it before it does.

The Rangers take a while to call you back and sometimes you have to call twice.
