Phone volume too low

Is there any reason why the phone volume coming through the speakers is so low? I've got it turned up to max on both iphone and unit but it's like a whisper. Thanks for any hints

Think there is a separate volume setting for the phone.

It's on MAX on both iPhone and HU. I changed the device type from Car Stereo to Speaker but no difference. You can hardly hear the phone... If there was a way to throw out the entire head unit (that you can't see in the sun)... a real pain.

Separate setting in HU for phone. Turning up the HU doesn't turn up the phone. Look in settings in the HU.

Call Vol in Phone settings was on MAX, while SMS and email was low which I raised to MAX as well. Will see if that affected it. Thansk

Any help.... can hardly hear the phone (BT connection), rest of HU works with no problem (audio)...
