GBR meets at a Fulton county library just north of where we meet, then they head out diffrent places each month to eat. And its free.

Nope, not so much Henpuppy. :flipoff2: Their next meeting is at 4Wheel Parts in Norcross. Talked to Tony E. the other day and they lost their place too. In fact, he was the one who notified me of the Fudds closing.

Update...

At the Pig Roast we discussed the Three Dollar Cafe off Roswell Rd. near W. Weiuca, located roughly 3 miles ITP off Roswell rd. very close to the old Brandy house and Fellini's Pizza. Interestingly enough, according to Tom Victor this was the location of the very first Ga Cruiser meeting so many years ago. So...

Downhill Dave and DZLtoy reached out to them yesterday and the reports sound pretty good. It's now called $3 Cafe Junior (whatever) so the BOD will be having the next meeting there on Monday night to scope it out. There are still a few questions and it's not done by any means but sounds promising. FYI--It's Inside the Perimeter for you south siders)

Jon also came up with a few other places including a pizza joint in Sandy Springs, it's owned by a Solaros member and could also be pretty cool.

Pending....

Ted,

There is another place called the Derby The Derby Sports Bar and Grille 4 locations in the Atlanta Area that is about 1/2 mile from the fudruckers. I did speak to one of the assistant managers and she said they have a separate room that would house us and we could consider it. I have to confirm there is no charge. Food is typical bar food and they have been there since the early 1990s

Hearth is the pizza joint in SS. It is owned in part by Jeff Newsham who is the SOLAROS member referenced. I have been there and am not sure if there is enough room for our group. Then again I wasn't really looking at it from that perspective. Let me know if you need me to make a phone call. The pizza is FANTASTIC and they have a good beer selection as well.

It's been a long time since I've been in there, what's the environment like compared to a $3? is there a Wifi connection?

That's it, exactly what Jon said. thanks Scotty!

derby may not be the best unless you exclude all children...and no offense to anyone who does, but you will walk out smelling like a pack of camels (and not the desert animal either).

Unless the back room is used rarely it would be somewhere I would recommend against...unless they've cleaned up completely and don't allow smoking anymore.

I Love Pizza!!!

$3 was a bust, too small no wifi
Hearth Pizza is looking too far north

I need ideas with a little research behind them people!

They aren't that far north of 285. Go to their website and look at the Goggle map for their location! The Food looks awesome. If this is the same place your talking about.

Welcome to hearth pizza tavern...a place like no other. All fresh oven fired pies with a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. All our food is fresh, ...

Google maps had it about 3 miles OTP but it looks like you're right. The other concern is that it sounds like it might be too small. In other words, our group would consume the restaurant but I'll check it out.

Phil and I discussed Slope's BBQ yesterday so he ran over and took a few quick pics. It's a lateral move compared to Fuddruckers instead of a step up but it might fit the bill at least for this month.

Tables are better than booths! What do you guys think b/c frankly I'm pulling my hair out.

This place worked Ok for us last month and it will serve for the July meeting as well but not sure we've settled on this as the final location. Still looking for some additional input.

We're on the move again, at least for the next meeting.

Slopes BBQ is ok but I think it's hurting attendance so we're gonna try Fuddruckers again. This time it'll be of Windy Hill & powers Ferry Rd.

I'll get the details up in the next day or so.

Sweet! That is only a driver and a 7-iron away from my office!

Yes, but it puts it over an hour my way!

Here's my 2 cents so everyone can take it or leave. Not trying to be an a$$ but it's just the reality of the situation

It's an hour for me too but that's the way it goes sometimes. :meh: Ben drives all the way from north of Cartersville 2x a month and doesnt make any issue of. No matter what we do someone will not be happy, we simply can not accommodate everyone so the priority gets to be who shows up and who doesn't.

This month will be Marietta, next month might be Norcross but either way Slopes aint cuttin it anymore.
