P2438 error code

P2438 Secondary Air Injection System Air Flow/Pressure Sensor Circuit High Bank 2

A few weeks ago my CEL came on, slip indicator light flashed, and check VSC came on. It eventually went away after a few days. I tried searching this forum and found lots of stuff about it just being a glitch which makes sense. I just can't find anything on this forum about P2438 error code that I got from my obd reader. Wondering if any of you have experienced this error code. As there isn't much about it on the interwebs for the 200 series.

Since the engine is basically the same as the Tundra, have you tried searching on Tundra forums?

Here's some information on P2438 for the LX570, which should be identical for an LC- 3UR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: SFI SYSTEM: DESCRIPTION (2008 LX570)

The CEL is basically saying pressure in the Air Injection System is higher than expected, and is exceeding a built in threshold that in normal operation, should not occur.

It suggests the follow potential culprits as:

Pressure sensor Open or short in pressure sensor circuit ECM

As the CEL went away, that would lead me to suspect the actual pressure sensor. Was it especially cold or anything when it occured?

This fundamentally is an emissions related CEL. Car will run just fine with the fault. Other than it will cause certain VSC, traction control, center diff lock functions to not be available.

It's been a pretty mild winter here in Virginia Beach, so it wouldn't have been any colder than mid 30s. Thank you for the information!
