Hi Everybody
Hope your Cruisers are behaving well. Mine doesn't. I Have a P1220 code Injection timing malfunction, intermittently. I checked the wiring and can not find a problem. I checked the resistance of the TCV and it is in spec (11.3 Ohm). The cruiser has 206'000 km, which i think is too low to have internal pump problems. I know, it still could be the TCV, since a good coil doesn't mean it is working properly. I also opened the ECU just to make sure nothing is burned there, but all looks good and clean, from what i could see.
Behavior of the cruiser: No white smoke, no black smoke. Idle is normal and not hunting. When it runs normal all seams to be good, but before the check engine light appears it starts to make knocking noise. The knocking is sometimes more sometimes less. It most of the time starts when the engine is on low RPM, cruising, downhill, stock traffic etc... The timing control value in the scanner shows abnormal high values, up to 40 degrees. If i ref the engine high, like to 4000 RPM it goes normally away., but short after in low RPM it reappears.
If somebody has an Idea, if there is a way to know if changing the TCV would fix it? What else could it be that I have overlooked?
Thank you guys and greetings
Marc
(I also checked the other sensors and solenoids that are pump related and they seem to be within specs)
