Hi guys, I got the P0401 error on my truck and when I looked the EGR Modulator, I found the issue on the left. No problem. I bought another, installed it, and a week later I get the picture on the right. What is causing this? At $120 a pop, those modulators are not cheap.

Is it as simple as the tube pops of and fries the modulator with exhaust gas? Do I just replace the tube also? Maybe clamp it on?

If you don't have emissions where you live then just delete that crap.

I recall from some posts several years ago that it could be related to clogged catalytic converters creating backpressure through the EGR. Also check to make sure the hoses are connected to the proper ports.
