Elk are plentiful in the Buffalo National River area. You can hunt them with a tag as long as not on the wildlife reserve.

First mornings breakfast was in Deer Arkansas. Here they show their Deer pride with the very original name of their school mascot.

Great pics! Loved that area when Greg, his Dad, Debbie and I made that trip this time last year. Great time!

Another project. A willis jeep, an SUV before being an SUV was cool.

I would think that trip makes landing a Airbus in Bismark, ND in January worth it.
Good stuff.

Did they get all the trees cleared off the road on the other side of Richland Creek?

They sure have. I think I could tell which one blocked yalls trip last year. That road was actually clear in October when I was there.

There were many other roads that we had to do a 180 on because of downed trees. We had an ax but no chain saw. I need a chain saw.

Hey Mike...what kind of snake was that...Timber Rattler?

- Mark

Not sure. After looking at pics on arkansas wildlife website it looked like some cotton mouth pics they had on their site. The snake did rattle its tail but it did not have a rattle.

not a rattler.

could be a puff adder they naturally memick cotton mouths or a cotton mouth. the head is not totally triangulated.

if it was aggressive then I would say a cotton mouth if not then puff adder.

back to regularly scheduled program.

Arkansas has some of the best trails and views in the country. The people are very friendly and put you on to great trails. If it was a cotton mouth they usually let you see their wide ,white mouth. Mike

my 9 year old says its a cotton mouth on the basis of the color, thickness and the eye shape.
I was wondering if its a hognose, but he's the expert.

And I believe that!

This trip looks awesome... Man I wish I had four weeks of vacation per year... I'd go on one of these trips with ya'll. But too many others places to go...
