Hi, I have a truck on order from japan.
the exporter told me that a broker in vancouver is going to take care of everything. Well I am wondering what that intails. He said all I had to do was pay the duty taxes and brokerage fee. but what will I have to do for registering the truck in ontario?
I would like to fly out and drive it back. The truck has gone through techno toyota japan for full servicing. So are there any forms I need to fill out, can I bring the truck to any ministry of transportation inspection place for a saftey certification or is it a little more involved.
thanks
mika

Sounds like you picked up a SilverPeak vehicle by the way you describe your truck. Those hilux pickups of theirs sure look nice.

You guys that buy first ask questions later have some real balls :) ...luckily the hilux pickups should need very little to meet safety standards...probably only LHD headlamps and daytime running lights.

In BC you can buy temporary insurance permits for X amount of days. I would assume you could do the same in Ontario, then fly out and drive it back, do any work required, and then go for your inspection.

yeah it is a silver peak hilux.
can't wait.
I realize the situation I put myself in and think how stupid I was, feeling a lot better now though.
I am going to contact transport canada today and will let everyone know waht there response is.
thanks
