The older I get, the more I appreciate mechanically simple things
And things that were built to last instead of being simply disposable.

Hey, sound like a Land Cruiser! :)

Came via UPS today. Plan to fire it up tomorrow!

is that a real Optimus, or is it one of the clones?

It's the real deal. Made in Switzerland on the metal(lunch box)container. Had a red sticker on the tank that said "tested"

Well....?

Works great! Brewed up a pot of coffee in no time. I plan to keep this little guy with me in my LC so I can brew a pot when out in the field.

just grabbed a Sievert SVEA 123 complete with patina less pot handle at a yard sale along with a Pezzetti mocha pot and old wooden burr coffee grinder for $25...pics to follow

Score!!

Hey , I like the yard sales in Ur neck of the woods !

yeah, the same guy had a very old 425 and a 413 both with cylinder tanks, for 25 and 35 respectively. He also had a pair of the cleanest VW busses I've seen in quite some time. Test drove the SVEa last night after a 12 hour shift doing the electrical at Georgs new shop; had coffee and soup in no time and no mess. pour gas on it and light it on fire...it doesn't get simpler than that...

Ha! I was kicking myself for not bringing them!!! I was trying to save a bit of rattling on the drive...

WOW There are legs for those boxes ? ?

Great ! Now there is one more thing I have to find.

Rustys got the best link in the chuckbox thread...

I've got an optimus Crux lite that I've had for several years. Super small, lightweight and efficient. Boils water faster then most of my buddy's JetBoils. Love it.
