Do you ever wheel that "Sissy Wagon"! Engine bay is way too clean my friend!

That would be Jim's doing. I'm working really hard to mess it up some. :D

Here's a picture of my setup. A little clustered, but works fine.

My fusible link box's latch got brittle and broke, so it's held closed with a zip tie. The relays to the left are for the Slee headlight harness.

You can kinda see the red optima spacer under the battery, as well.

The terminals are military style. I replaced the negative connection with a standard eyelet type that you can find at any automotive store. Soldered, clamped, and heat shrinked it.

That looks good Ryan. I also need to convert the negative terminal to the standard eyelet style, so I can use my military style terminals. I like where you put the relays, much better location than where I put mine.

Is that the cable clamp thats held down by a screw?

the exide maxxima got a 10mm senter pole with a stamdard nutt(not sure how to spell that but the thing you put on the screw) as vell as standard batteriterminals. great if you Want two or more batteries, ihave two ground wires one directly to chassis and one to the engine.(closest nutt)

Neowulf you only seam to have one battery and tray. In UK two batteries are standard for the Di  esels have you removed one or is that standard?

its standard on the HDJ80 models i got a HZJ80 :)

Ryan,

I tried the same setup you have last night and it worked. Was able to hook up everything, now I just need to make clean everything up and I'll be good to go. Thanks everybody for all the good info.

Optima battery

Apparently I bought the wrong model of red top from Optima. I bought the 34/78. I will be trying to extend the cables as explained in this post.

For future reference, the correct part to order is the 34R (red top). The R designates 'reverse posts'. Optima says this is the old 'orange top' battery.
