My fj had voltage problems and i had/have optimas from cosco. After the pig died twice, each time I took the batteries back from cosco they replaced it no questions! I'm on my third one and had the voltage problem fixed...still running strong. Only complaint is cosco doesn't have the regular red top and they don't have the deep cycle/yellow top either...

Sam's club has all three Optimas - Red, Yellow, and Blue Tops - at about the same price as Costco. However, they don't have the Reverse terminal Red Tops.

Reverse terminal Red Tops used to be Orange Tops. Since the Red/Orange Top battery is smaller and shorter than the OEM battery, even with the reverse terminals, the battery still needs a spacer, or 2X6, to lift it in order for the cables to fit.

Really? The Sam's Club here (Loveland, Colorado) doesn't carry them. I called a couple months ago looking for a battery for our Subaru, and they said they only carry Exide. I figured that was a chain-wide thing, but I guess not.

I ended up getting one for $109 at Advance Auto Parts, so I wasn't too upset. :)

No actually Costco's business plan factors in returns. Even if 50% of a given product (or more) is returned, they still make a profit. That is why they have no-question return policy on everything.
It has to do with the huge quantities they buy and how they deal with vendors... It was all explained to me but I forget - I'm no business guy.

I worked for Costco for 12 years. Just quit this past June. This is all true, and they also will not do business with a vendor that won't stand behind their product. The membership fee doesn't cover much, or so I was told.

Good company. Their stock is doin great.

Haha I have a friend who baught a sawz all at home depot to cut up an fj40 into small enough pieces to put into carbage cans with the paln being to return it after he was done. I still have the receipt for him....I think he ended up enjoying the tool so much he decided to keep it. I'm talking about a friend (not me)...really....I mean it....what? I'm telling the truth!
