I don't think it's that easy to swap suspensions on a Lexus, according to Slee's site. The LX 450 already has a variable suspension system, just put it in "off highway" mode and you get an inch or two of lift, way easier than swapping suspensions.

I'm guessing the cost of buying a 1HDT and having someone do the swap for him makes it better to just buy the factory version (cost wise). There was an 80 in Bellingham with an arb bumper selling for $3500 a couple weeks ago. That could have swayed the balance towards a conversion :meh:.

I was always under the impression the lx450 was exactly the same as an 80 series, just with a LEXUS badge glued on it?
I had no idea the suspension was different.

I have web browsed a few gasser 80 series, and thought about a conversion, but the price on the gasser would have to be damn cheap. There are some out there, but really I would just like to take the easy way out and get a factory diesel. I have no problem driving rhd, and the :princess: is willing to try it as well.

Thanks for looking though!
