I'm starting to get to work on the Troopies now that most of the snow is melted. I've got two now an '80 HJ45 and about 60% of an 82 HJ47.

I purchased an OME heavy suspension for the 45 with the smaller pin sizes for the frame mounts prior to getting the 47. I've decided that I'd rather use the suspension on the 47 which has the larger pin bushings (and a much better frame).

Can I simply purchase the appropriate shackle kits to use these springs on the 47? I think that the OME springs are the same for the small/large pin and only the shackles change. Anyone know if this is correct.

Glad to see it going to good use. I'm happy to help send any troopies up to the Up Above that I find-I want to see them all go up there.:D How much of it will you use? It was a bit rough, but the frame was in good condition. Any photos you can post?

2manycruisers is guy to talk to if you want a really nice troopy from down here:)

Cheers,

Josh

Here's a few photos of what I ended up with. Maybe 50% of a Troopy. (The hood and front bib are in the back of the truck.)

When ever you get a dedicated wrenching day and need a hand, let me know. I would probably make a weekend of it, one day wrenching and the other at the offroad park nearby.

That's great Rufus- I can't wait to see the progress. The bloke who owned that truck before had it for 10 or 12 years (he reckoned he was the second owner). He worked up in Darwin with it, and then was in the outback for a while (he did construction on a lot of the mines down here). He drove it all over Australia, and camped in it a lot.

He was absolutely pumped that it went to the US. I told him it was going to Boston, and he asked if it snowed in Boston. When I told him that it did he said 'man, I wish I could see that.' Ah, the Aussies.:) Imagine if he culd see Maine...

Cheers,

Josh
