2018 lc 200.. rides well and comfortable in highways, but, moves around in city driving/ uneven roads. thinking a shock absorber swap from the oem to possibly OME or Bilsteins to make the ride more controlled. Any suggestions?

There's not currently an off the shelf Bilstein application, but there will be by the new year. If you can wait I'd say wait. I run the Tundra version of the 6112s and they are spot on, handling is amazing for such a hefty truck. However that leaves me with a mismatched rear (currently running Fox 2.0 IFP and OME 2721 springs) - not awful but I'm certain not what it could be!

Bilstein is developing the 6112/5160 setup for the LC along with their own rear springs for the full setup. @RET2 is going to guinea pig them, he's currently running the standard OME setup and could comment directly between the two.

Actually there is: BILSTEIN B6 4600. - Bilstein

arich above posted early on a install of the Bilsteins. They are a good bang for the buck shock swap, add the OEM front spacer, and maybe rear trim packers if needed.

The OME shocks require the use of their springs, I asked OME a while back. OME does make a "stock height" spring if you don't need or desire a lift, might be available in your part of the world.

Included is a test of shocks from a few years back, they test the Bilstein and the OME as well as others on a 100 series LC.

i am interested in the option of the Bilstein 6112 and the Bilstein 8112 series for the 200 series NOT the 4600 series.

SQOD: This setup won't be better than coilovers, correct? In terms of performance?

Fronts are coilovers, rears are not in all of these applications including OEM. Did you mean better than the remote reservoir "racing" style shocks like Icon/Kings/BPs etc...? Prob below this class of shocks are the 6112s and I would assume Bilstein would plan to compete/beat those setups with their 8000 series variants.

The 6112 (reference model for the front coilovers)/5160 (for the rears) will be a killer combo, and be out hopefully within next 6 months.

I'm looking forward to what they come up with in a higher performing setup for the 200 series LC, it's always nice to have options.

Since your not the OP, and weren't asking any questions, what's you point?

has bilstein come up with the better version of the shocks for the 2018 model lbc 200 yet? iv also seen that the shocks they offer for the previous model lc 200 is now out of stock in most stores... maybe they are coming out with an updated version...

This is my take**

Bro if your ride is uncomfortable with the stock shocks, chances are you are complaining from some sort of stiffness or jittery feel. Ive been through plenty of LC200's and shocks, and I have two things that will provide a major increase in comfort.

For road use and comfort OEM is the best and softest. since you wont need much damping. The light damping means you can make use of as much of the available wheel travel in regular road use. Not desert runs obviously.

SOLUTIONS (this is from my experience, you may not like what I have to say).

1. Tire pressure obviously, do not go over 35 PSI. I recommend running 30.
2. If your vehicle is equipped with KDSS chances are since its in the US. delete the front sway bars. I cannot express how much of a difference this made for me OR* Check if the sway bar is jammed in the closed/stiff position which wont let the front coilovers articulate. Thats what happened to me.

Thats all I have to say. Good luck,.

If you are planning to upgrade your shocks and coilovers anyway.

I recommend a shock that has progressive compression damping. Not icons they ride quiet stiff in normal use.

King shocks is my recommendation, with 600lb springs(softest spring possible to allow the shock to do the work) with flutter stack valving to create a setup with the best small bump compliance and comfort.

great suggestions bro. will put them on mind. however i am from asia where some of our roads are less than even. specially the cemented ones. my lc has kdss and is practically brand new so i would think there shouldnt be any jammed parts as early as now. I wil look for a supplier for kings shocks and consider these. i would like to keep the stock springs and just do a shock mod. bilstein is on top of the list as there is a local supplier.

Bilstein is working on 6112/5160 application for the 200 series as we speak, a Mud member is lined up to drop their truck off for development if they haven't already.

I had OME on an 80's truck and it was a good ride, put Billies on the 100 series and it was a better ride (For a couple of reasons) and now I have a 200 series and I'm going back to the Billies for this rig.

Any recommendations for front coil springs?

The driving consists of mostly highway driving with 10% trails and off-roading
