Here is an update on alternator wiring, and i found that pinout, for reference

I bench tested the alternator with the exciter powered, found out minimum 3volts a/c. then tied in for the Dakota Digital. their new unit also integrates speedo input, so i also get to correct for my 315’s. Win win.

Just filed this down for a good contact, then solder

And trimmed the back of the case

Now we have tach input to the dakota

I was super close to snatching their hybrid, but with exchange rates it was like 1800 plus shipping. Benz injection has got one as well. I really should have gone that route, so much simpler and cheaper. If only this turbo didn't say Toyota on it. HA
My experience with Benz Injection has been quite disappointing so far. I purchased injectors from him, and unfortunately, all six of them leaked. To make matters worse, I also bought a lift pump from him, and it also leaked. The customer service was virtually nonexistent, and I strongly advise potential buyers to exercise caution.

Now im stressing, you're the second disgruntled customer, with injectors specifically. Anyone have a good experience? @turbodizzle how/where did you get injectors? did he refund you? Thanks

I ended up getting new injectors from Dpump UK. No, after some back and forth he sent replacements which also had issues. I just cut my losses and moved on.

I ordered a lot of stuff for my swap from benz injection last year, including my motor. There were a number of issues with everything right off the bat and he did what he could to resolve them. Ended up giving me a partial refund also. I haven’t ran the engine, injection pump, lift pump, and injectors I got from him yet so I’m hoping everything will be ok.

Hey guys,

Finally time for an update. SHE RUNS!!
My started was super weak, so I bought this little gem: 1999 Mercedes-Benz E300 Turbodiesel - Electrical - Switches, Motors, Relays, Fuses & Wiring - (Starters, WOSP Starter Motors) - https://www.pelicanparts.com/cat/v_mbz-1999-e300-turbodiesel-sedan/elswch_starters
A gear reduction starter. Very needed to get fuel to where it needs to be. It was cranking to death before. I don't have any video yet, but everything is functioning great with the Sean Tracy stage 2.

But I hit a snag...Transmission.

I upgraded to a transgo kit and a valvebody rebuild. My shifter will not phisically shift into L. Only park and forward gears work. Manually shifting the selector underneath the truck seems to be missing the the distinct 7th click for L. Reverse is also a forward gear. I also noticed that in Park, the engine is underload as I throttle, and will not rev freely.
I feel like I spent a massive ammount of time making sure I did't screw anything up, and was very organized, all was labeled. Trans and factory computer are plugged in. does anyone have any advise before I tear the valve body back out? Trans worked great before and now I have regrets not waiting until after the swap to dig into it. Thanks

My experience so far with Shane has been great, and seems to always answer the phone and help me. I was really stressing on the injectors. I will say that it has a little bit of nailing, about 5 seconds after startup, and starts to lighten as it is idling. Shane said that it should subside within about 200 miles due to machining specs he uses, and was normal. I can't idle too long as I have coolant, but had to pull the belt(my alternator was backfeeding and I have a new Bosch reman on the way from Pelican parts). Did you just have nailing or leaking after the motor was off? How would one determine that? I'll check mine for sure.

I tested my rebuilds from him before putting them in the engine and they were all sorts of messed up. He offered to refund me or send out some New ones he’s having made in Germany. I opted for the new ones. I’ll update when they arrive.

Would love to know how those new injectors are. In hind-site i should have just bought new. I have quite a bit of blue smoke at idle, and revs while still cold…along with nailing thats seems to get a bit better once up to temp, but is still more than i would like. I will post a video soon.

I took it for a drive newyears day. My wastegate is stangly limiting me at 5 psi. I have to say, very lethargic on take off. I am happy to report that the trans is shifting it, i will be playing with kickdown and maybe tps angle.
I pulled the line off the wastegate to crank boost, and man this thing rips over 3400 And 15 psi. Looking at sizing, my turbo is very close to a hx30. I will be going to a he221 sometime in the future, but it works for now.

To deal with the take crappy take off, 4.88s will be coming next month. 315s and 6k curb is a bit much for this small displacement diesel off boost. Im sure a stock cruiser would be a perfect fit for this setup.

Any updates, was thinking of ordering

This was the iat install, just cut out the old one, and welding to the new pipe

And aside from this, i wired the dakota digital into speedo, tach. And repurposed the ABS light to a glow indicator. I put in a micro relay in to convert from 12v input into a grounded input. Pretty simple, just use abs on the 85/86, and ground ran through 30/87. (Im bad to repurpose old densos, better than new china)

Yes! I tested them on my pop tester and they were good. Nice patterns and the pop pressures were consistent. They’re in my engine now and I’m planning to fire it up for the first time in the next couple of weeks.
Man, thank you for that. I just got off the phone with Shane. For anyone on here that feels slighted by benz injection, I can't say enough nice things about the guy. He is sending me new injectors at no additional cost, and I am sending the remans back. He apparently has a shop rebuild them... so who knows. Either way his customer sat is solid.

I had pulled a 1300 EGT on a grade less in less than 20 secs at 5-6 PSI. and I haven't been able to get the blue smoke to subside at idle, it would occasionally go away, then come back after idling for a minute or so. here is a short at operating temp...

I got some new parts from benz injection and benzforce…

Driving impressions from the ct26 were good, for a race car. Spool up was about 2600rpm and it would spool to 24psi quickly. The truck would unfortunately crank egts way past where i was comfortable, but it pulled really well once in boost. It felt similar in power to my turbo 1fz(5psi), maybe even a little stronger. Off the line, it had no power.

I am installing the he221w 7cm, expecting 230hp with the sean tracy 1.5, which will be perfectly fine for me.

Here is a parts list of what was ordered:
Benzforce:
90 degree compressor outlet
Kkk-t25 adapter
79mm vband outlet
Wastegate adapter(for clocking)
Oil feed(with restrictor)
12an drain(may go barbed, too close to the frame rail for a smooth bend)

Benz injection
1.5 ecu exchanged(no need for extra rpm of stage 2)
Injection pump delivery valve seal kit

Fcp euro
Om648 exhaust springs
6110530220 Is the part number

I chose OEM Mercedes due to quality(country of origin). They are only a 15% increase over stock(24kg vs 28kg) but i am not running an hx35 at 5400 rpm. i believe they will suffice for my needs, while minimizing valve train wear.

Valve cover came off in chassis after removing the heater core outlet hoses. i intend to redo the heater core outlet since it impacts the back of the valve cover anyways.

I have a set of korean made 4.88 gears in my cart, going to wait until she is back on the road….

I will post some pictures of the new turbo setup later today, it looks close to the motor mount and shock tower, but i believe it will fit nicely, keeping heat low and away from my ac line.

I ran that setup on my e300, (without the adapter parts, just welding) great driveablity but a little smokey for my taste, your inter-cooler and exhaust might flow better then mine and i def needed the valve springs so yours may turn out better, there is a version with a billet wheel that is 1.5mm larger hopefully thats the one you got. Measure the ID of that 12an drain. I've seen some issues with that being too small and making the turbo burn oil, I prefer barb drain with hose personally, alot more flow and cheaper. a drain for a TD04 works. and on the block side a 5/8 heater hose barb for a small block fits right into the stock drain if you bore out the hole and tap it 3/8 npt.

What size of fuel line are you using for both the feed and return to the tank? I think I may have too small of lines at the moment.

Just running stock, I haven't noticed a problem even with the CT26. My butt dyno said probably 280hp, just a shame it was for 500 rpm lol, but had plenty of fuel. I assume you pulled the fuel pump and just ran a line in its place?
