Need some assistance is determining the color of my FJ40 so I can get some touch up paint for some body repairs I’m doing

It’s an Oct-1970 build date which makes it a 1971 model. Looking through all the different color charts out there I am unclear which white it is correct. The general consensus seems to be that Olympus White ( T-1453) was available in 1970 and Cygnus White (Color Code T-12) was 1971-1975.

However, with my FJ40 straddling the transition between a 1970 and 1971 model years it seems to be a 50/50 proposition.

Just some food for thought, our 6/70 (transition month of year) roof and bits are lilly white 403 on spring green, not cygnus. It was a barn find with 34k miles and cygnus was clearly not matching when I ordered paint.

Id say take it to an auto paint shop and let them scan it with their little scanner and it can pull up the code and match it

Thanks for the input.
The roof cap and bezel are definitely a more pure white and different than the body. My challenge is which of the off whites the body is

that is definitely an option, it may be a bit hit or miss on matching a code with 56 year old paint

Yeah I just dont know of any way to actually confirm whether the vehicle was painted with Cygnus or Olympus, because that info is not put on a 70-71 So the only thing I know to do is for an auto paint shop to use a scanner, they will try to match it to a code, but more importantly, it will produce a formula for the shop to mix up something that matches whatever it scans.

So if its different the the cap and bezel, and the caps and bezels where all Cygnus White according to my research, that would make me think the body is Olympus White

EDIT: I dont know, this is a tough one. Based on what fireman said above, i guess we cant be sure the bezel and cap is Cygnus. Has the paint on the body been cut/buffed recently? Maybe its oxidized and affecting the appearance of the color
