It's going to be sad fair well for Oldtoy this weekend, as she has been sold and moving south to Melbourne,.
I'm not keen to sell, but a MWB purely for a touring toy Is probably not he best use for her, although it's an absolute blast and I always enjoyed driving the nimble tractor, but with growing family, and our intentions to see more remote country , I needed a larger toy more suited for longer drives while towing, opted for hj61.
Oldtoy has been my 2nd bj74, and no doubt I wil miss the tractor, I'm sure she is going to a good home as the buyer had a bj73 years ago, and now has decided to rekindle the cruiser bug. New owner is flying up Saturday and driving her back to Melbourne 2000klm.

I really like the bumper and the side steps!

Could you post a detail photo of where the rubber fender flares meet the mud flaps?
I'm going to be adding those flares if my last mud flap ever arrives from Back-Order Land.

NIce where abouts in melb you coming too
Moving to lillydale, apparently, Melbourne is where I found her, and now going back, not sure if that's near you at all, buyer mentioned east near dandenong ranges?? Ol mate is very keen to get back into a cruiser, glad it's going to good home.

My new toy, very excited, I've already sold 12ht from donor rig, auto/ manual swap in the next week or 2, and full vx of 24v parts and stuff, I'm set to tinker again

Nice not far from me, I'm in Ferntree Gully, if you looking for people to get out driving with etc check us out Ontrack 4wd club in my signature
I'm not moving south Hulsty, just the rig, I will pass your club onto new owner, although I was moving south I would've def looked you up, cheers

Hey, did you paint that FRP top on your old BJ74 or is that the factory color?
I didn't paint it, it did look like it had been painted looking at the edges, but in saying that, I have seen other 74 imports (not many)in japan with same color top, so maybe it's something the Japanese did for some reason,

Mine was painted, but now the paint is starting to chip... I think I'm going to look into having it stripped and sprayed with line X or something. Anyone have and advice one this?

Also, it looks like the outermost rubber strip around the sliding side windows has began to come loose and work its way back behind the black metal strip that goes around the edge of the glass where it meets the FRP top. I THINK this is what has caused that black metal strip to start to rust, maybe, since it might be allowing water to seep down between the rubber and that outer metal strip.
Can anyone confirm that the rubber between the glass and the metal strip should be sitting slightly above that metal strip?
