Ok everyone should no by now i just converted my automatic 4 runner to a 5 speed, Well it idles high as hell and its getting anoying. is there any other way to adjust the idle. Besides where the cable atches to the bracket with the nut on both sides? or is that the only way to adjust it? Also the computer thats under my consol below the radio what computer is that. is that for the old automatic? is it important now that its a 5 speed what happens if i unplug it? and remove it
Right on your throttle body is a large standard screw, about 3/8" acrosss kind of sunk into a boss in the casting. I've used this to adjust my idle in the past. Dont know if this is the correct way to do so or not but you might give that a try. Anyone who knows more feel free to correct me.
I'm running a diesel these days. Its been a while since I've had a gasser
Does your truck have power windows? Could be the control module. Might even say right on it. You could always unplug it and see if it makes a difference you can tell. Rudimentary, but probably effective.
thanks guys found the counter sunk screw. it idles nice now. It was idleing so fast i had to shut it off to order food at mcdonalds. now about that computer on the trans hump under the radio on the floor infront of the shifters whats it for?
