1969 International Scout 800A 4X4
Looking to re-home my Scout. I bought this from my uncle a couple of years ago who bought it in 2008 for use on his ranch. It's been in California since at least 2008, so it has surface rust (some would say patina) but no major rot. I've spent the last year getting back it up and running. It starts, runs, drives, steers and stops reliably. The 4WD does not currently work: the transfer case works, but the Dana 30 front differential is grenaded.
It looks to have been originally gold and then painted the metallic brown later, now with some of the gold showing through on worn spots.
304 V8 with a 4 Speed Manual Transmission and a factory limited slip Dana 44 rear differential.
Been in California since at least 2008, while not stored inside before my ownership, it's been in a dry environment.
Starts reliably
Runs well, no smoke when warmed up
Shifts through all gears
New carburetor (Motorcraft 2150 clone) with electric choke
New plugs, cap, rotor, wires, coil, air filter, oil filter
New wiring harness with fuse box
New Napa battery installed January 2025
Electric Fuel Pump
Both fuel tanks function
New fuel selector valve
All lights and gauges function
New front brake wheel cylinders and shoes
Goodyear Wranglers 235/75R15 installed January 2025
Period CB radio with Firestick antenna tuned to 1.5 SWR
Fresh fluids
Coolant overflow tank added
Both Rocker assemblies have been disassembled and cleaned
All Hydraulic lifters and been disassembled and cleaned
What it needs:
Front differential
Driver's side locking hub repair or replacement
Rear brakes
E-Brake Cables
Hood repair or replacement
To be driven
Other things:
Window regulators function, but are very stiff and are missing some teeth at the bottom of travel
Small exhaust leak on passenger side exhaust manifold
Parts included:
Front driveshaft
Old Carburetor Core
Mechanical Fuel Pump Core
Wiring odds and ends
$12,500, open to offers
