so last year my oil pressure gauge was intermittently inop and since it was starting to look like swiss cheese i got a new one and gauge was working just fine. over the summer i had to replace the thermostat and did the hoses as well and while doing that i must have broken a wire internally in the oil pressure wire harness. did a continuity check and found an open in the harness. the harness is nla from toyota so i was able to get a used one but its for a 95-97 and i have a 94.

so what is the difference with the harnesses and are they interchangeable? i looked up the ewd for different years and theres no difference on the ewd. i know that their different part numbers but will one work with the other?

Does the 95-97 unit fit on the '94? I just had someone make me a new harness for my '94 and I know he said there was a connector midline that was a radio interference regulator(or something that reduces radio interference from the motor, not sure exactly what it is called). It also had a separate plug that went on the top of the AC compressor and then the two that clip to the oil pressure switch. As long as all of that is there, I am not sure why it wouldn't work although I am pretty sure the radio on a '94 is different than the later years.

same connectors on both ends of the harness just missing the mid harness connectors, i couldnt find what they were or what they did.

if the mid harness connectors are just a noise filter than thats no big deal, i already get plenty of static on the radio with the led headlights and its an aftermarket radio so theres that as well.

You should probably be fine then.

so as an update I finally got around to installing the new to me harness and it works so the 95-97 harness will work with 93-94 trucks, nice to have the gauge working again
