Newish 1998 LX 470 owner here, and the car was owned by a mechanic and has been well kept. One thing I started to notice after I did my first oil change is that the Oil Pressure tend to run high. I can't quite recall if that was the case before I changed the oil and filter.

At cold start the oil pressure quickly rise to half way mark. After 45 seconds or so it goes to 3/4 and stays around there at idle. At highway speed it's almost at Max.

Knowing this is a 26 years old car, I am wondering if this should be a concern, given the age of the oil pressure sender and the gauge. Is this something I should just ignore, keep an eye on after the next oil change, or actively investigate?

Thanks!
