Hi guys. My 1992, 6 cyl truck has an oil leak that I can't find the source for. I thought it was the valve covers and while they were leaking a bit, they were not the culprit for the major leak (I call major a couple of drops overnight). I recently got the truck and the previous owner has no clue where it came from as he didn't care to fix it. I hate oil leaks so I'm determined to find it and fix it. I power washed the motor earlier today and drove it back home but I guess I need some more miles on it for it to start showing. I already checked the oil pan and it does not seem to leak, the drain plug seems fine. The oil filter, negative. Is there an engine plug somewhere that is known to leak on these cars? The leak could be the main rear seal but I want to check all the other possibilities before dropping the tranny. BTW, the oil drops right where the tranny and the motor connect. However, there was oil everywhere so I'm not sure that is the source.

Thank you!

Rear main sounds like the culprit. Photos help - take some in the morning before moving the truck. That should give you a pretty good indication to where it's leaking.

Also, a couple drops isn't much of a leak if you're talking about that 60 Series in your profile picture ;)

The FJ60 is gone. It needed too much work although I regret selling it. This issue is with my Toyota truck. I will take some pics tomorrow morning and post them.

Thanks.
