what is normal oil consumption per 1000 miles for the 3fe? 8 weeks ago I purchased a beautiful 91 fj80 with 83k original miles, and have driven 4000 miles since. I changed the oil with Mobil1 40w, and have currently used 1/8 of a quart in the past 4k miles, mostly city. Every other cruiser I have owned at least 1 quart per 1000 miles was normal, sometimes more. Do I have anything to worry about? Thanks for the help.

will be interesting to see comments as I have been wondering the same thing. I'm due for an oil change and just checked mine and it looks like I'm about 3/4-1qt low on 3,000 miles.

My was doing the same thing, missed 1Q per 1K miles. Took it to the shop, it turned out it was leaking from an o ring. I have been driving over 1k miles after the repair was done, so far so good.
