There is no such product as Mobil 1 15w-40. If you purchased 15w-40 it is most likely Mobil Delvac 1300. Check the bottle and let us know what it is. Bottom line is 15w-40 oils are usually HDEO oils and mineral, and normally good quality.

There is no need to run M1 15w-50 but it won't hurt anything. You can find the 0w-40 at Walmart, Kragen and autozone. Pep boys seems to be the only chain that doesn't carry it.

Yes HDEO= Heavy Duty Engine Oil.

Not sure why, but I tried a K&N on my truck a while back and the start up rattle was more noticable. That does not seem right as it has the anti-drain back valve. I went back to the Toyota filter (new one not the old good one) and the start up rattle was not as loud.
