I appreciate the advice!May I ask what exactly you are after? Anything like ruts or rocks you are climbing can and will pull on your steering. The question is, were you prepared for it? If you are looking for an off-road specific answer then my suggestion is to take any obstacle slow, keep your thumbs on the outside of the steering wheel like the other 4 digits.
yea thats pretty normal.I appreciate the advice!
I want to see how much steering kickback people are getting on their 470/120. I have an '04 470 and I notice the steering wheel likes turning itself when I drive over bumps at low speed. This is my first truck with hydraulic power steering, so I'm new to how these feel and drive.
I was getting steering kickback on the stock setup. I now run 275/70R17 tires, 2" Dobs lift, JBA UCAs with about 4.7-5.1 caster. Offset is a meager +15 on 4Runner TRD Trail wheels. Front LCAs are fresh, steering rack and intermediate steering shafts are new, steering column looks good and tight, within design limits. What is your wheel setup and alignment setup.
I don't feel much kickback on mine.
Worn suspension, too much caster and too much negative offset would amplify the kickback.
