We have the opportunity to trip around this weekend in a different kind of Toyota. A new 4x4 Tundra with a Flip Pac. Has full interior built up, fridge, dual batteries, etc etc. Think its got to be the longest wheelbase on the market!... Anyhow, I will make sure to let you guys know my thoughts. We are extremely lucky to have such generous friends.

Tonight we'll be camped here with it.. tomorrow we have no idea.. maybe Bradshaw? Truckhaven? Ocotillo? Anza?

Nice view... I was talking to some colleagues in Philly today +/- 30*... Told them we're melting down here in mid-hi 70's.. They told me to go put a sock in my :censor:...

Since you are in the area, I would suggest a stop at the mud volcanoes just south of you at the intersection of Schrimpf Rd. and Davis Rd. south of the Wister Wildlife Refuge.

That's a cool little camp ground. We stayed there once back in 1999. The slot canyon near Mecca is pretty cool out there.

On a side note, on reading up on Death Valley I found out that Salton Sea was actually the lowest point in the N America. Didnt flood until 1905. Pretty cool.

We're back and had a great time. The Flip pac worked great and the Tundra had so much power compared to the 80 it was nuts. Highlights included SS State Park, SS Yacht Club, Slab City, Painted Canyon, Salvation Mtn, Sonny Bono bird sanctuary and a quick stop in Truckhaven.

Trip report to follow!
