I am looking for a way to clean around the "holes" in the rims.
Was thinking of a rotating cone shaped pad to take off just the top or damaged area.
Anybody have success using something else?

Are you refering to somthing to clean the rims, or somthing to take the finish off?

Wax, toothbrush, and some elbow grase, worked wonders for me.

i have not tried, but have heard that using the non-abasive cream and scouring pad for a glass top stove works well to clean alu rims. sounds like it might work with a lil elbow grease.

I'm thinking of a pad on a drill or something like that. I just want to clean the outside layer and not hurt the finish that's left.

I found these Harbor Freight Tools at Harbor Freight and think they might just do the job...;)

Mr Clean Magic Eraser

Ok, I'll try both of the above... Might have too.
