Does anyone know what would be a better shock for every day use? a Bilstein or a Toyota OEM one? It'd be for an '89 pickup 4wd and no lift with almost no weight in the bed. I only take it off roading every once in a while and just want a good shock that'll last for a while and not be stiff or to soft.

The bilsteins I bought for my 100 series were way too stiff so I returned them for oem which were actually a lot less expensive. I bought some aftermarket tokico shocks for my 92 2wd pickup and they give a very nice ride. To sum it up I would avoid bilsteins on a stock lightweight truck and choose a softer valved replacement.

Liveoak I had read about the bilsteins being to stiff for you 100 series. An I guess I'll order up a set of oem shocks since they seem to be good and are about 140 or so cheaper through beno.
