Post #6 of the FAQ has the answered the how to do the Paper Clip Check Engine Test:

So I get after doing the test per the FAQ -
91-95 Land Cruisers can pull the code with the paperclip method.

So, I have a wacky issue to sort out:
25 Air-Fuel Ratio Lean. :o
26 Air-Fuel Ratio Rich. :crybaby:

Is this intermitting? Who has any idea of what the heck is going on here...

What do I do from here? :confused:
 
Do you have any symptoms: rough idle perhaps? There are other codes that are specific to just bad o2 sensors so your issue could be more involved. Not saying it is not your o2 sensors but I wouldn't narrow your focus to just those.
 
If you get a little over zealous with a pressure washer around your O2 sensors, they get moisture in them and throw either of those codes. Usually a crappy idle is include at no extra charge.
 
No symptoms... No rough idle.
It just passed smog a couple of months ago so its ironic that it happens now, better now that prior to the smog check.

No pressure washer on my truck.
Just so I am straight, just where are the 02 Sensors at?
Are we talking about the two before the catalytic converters?

With this being an 80-Series, I will not be shocked to find out that there are six more somewhere.

Those are the only 2..... it also is good because you can hollow out the cats and it won't throw a code.
 
Sure you can. Did it on my quite a few v8 powered cars I used to have when I lived in LA. As long as it passes the sniffer.... which it will on a LC (I ran mine through cali smog with no cats and it passed everything except the visual. If you hollow them out so that they still look ok, no one will be the wiser.

I did it and I know many other friends of mine in LA that did it :cheers:

Buyer beware. I don't want to :deadhorse: on this, but there are many testimonies on here about the results people have had with after market O2 sensors, even the Denso's. What I think you get with the after market Denso's is a generic Denso O2 with a vehicle specific plug/harness. I've compared the after market Denso's with the OEM Denso and physically can't tell the difference. However I have seen the non-OEM throw codes and the OEM's didn't. Wish I was smart enough to figure out why.
If you they work for you, great. $120 for a pair is a steal compared to OEM's.

OEM denso (which I would imagine are OEM part numbers)

and universal Densos which aren't


You should be fine with the ones from spark plugs .com
