what kind of setup are you running?

how fast will it air up 4 35" tires

how much was the total cost?

did you part it together yourself or buy a package?

any other info would be apprecited.

I kind of like this setup but it might be a bit much for what I need...

OBA

I have one of those Chinese 2 piston 12v compressor hardwired in the rear quarter. Dash switch w/ relay to activate it. 3 gal airtank under the chassis between the DS rocker panel and frame rail. Pressure switch on the air tank. Compressor fills directly to the tank and the tank supplies a quick connect on the rear bumper.

Compressor $125
Tank $40
Hoses, switches, fittings, etc maybe $50?
Plus the cost of a second battery and #4 cable to a j-box in the quarter panel.

TJ, I forget his screen name, is working on an OBA system that is soooooo much cheaper than buying a York but does the same job. Once he finishes the project I'm pretty sure we can post up pictures.

Another option would be puma air compressor. Airs up 35" toyo mts from 12 to 40 psi in 3 mns 15 seconds.

thanks for the info...how long to air up tires? what size tires?

Can't remember - about 5mins per 35" tire. I timed it once - it's not really longer than the expensive 12v models but a belt driven unit will always be faster. Requires you to run the engine though.

I was lucky to snag one of the last GLWJ bracket and pully sets to mount up a york 210. It runs to a 2.5 gallon tank mounted to the metal tech slider accessory plate. From there it just runs to a coalescing filter, pressure cut off switch and a coupler. It's quick enough to make everyone jealous and lazy with using their own 12V units. I end up airing up a few rigs each trip. I love it. Never timed it on 285's but its quick.

CO2 might not be your thing but I have a 10 lb. Powertank.set up. Airs up a 33" BFG Mud from 18psi to 38psi in about 3 minutes. Good for 30-35 fills and cost me $12.00 a refill at Seals Gases in Costa Mesa. I can easily reseal a blown bead and run air tools. Super quiet too.

I also carry a 12 volt compressor I bought from E9999 years ago. It's a great back up, but 30 minutes for four tires.
