Anyone here plan on going? Considering it. I've stayed up on Pinion Mountain near the squeeze past years. Entrance to that trail was a matter of blocks from Stagecoach Trails where it's been staged past years. This year it's headquartered at Butterfield Ranch RV Resort which is about 7.5 miles away from the Pinion Mountain trailhead. A little more inconvenient, but not bad.

Trail runs are always good and it's usually a fun potluck as well.

Probably won't be able to make it this year. I will be staffing a boys mountain camp for the Boys to Men mentoring that weekend or the next.

Looks like a cool trip, I'm in. I was checking out the Butterfield Ranch amenities and it looks like a great place to take the RV. The :princess: and kids will like that!

I have been wanting to run some of the trails out there for a while now, so looking forward to it.

Officially signed up and I'm going to give Butterfield Ranch a try this year instead of being a hermit up on Pinion Mountain.

Signed up for the cabin hike/history on Friday afternoon and the mine exploration run on Saturday. Scott will remember that I missed the very first mine tour in '09 because of a minor little issue with my heart two weeks prior to Borregofest! Not going to miss it this time. Great unusual access to private property on this one! I know the mine run just does Oriflame/Rodriguez and we just did those at our M&G, but that's ok. This run isn't about the run, it's about the mines and the history surrounding them!

Hope to see you there!

The mine tour is really good stuff and you will have a great time. I am probably going to do San Gorgonio via Vivian Creek that weekend. Say hi to Larry for me.

Will do. Have fun on San Gorgonio! Stan will be in Malawi.

Not really impressed with the run selection lately. The mine run interests me only because I have not seen the equipment although I have been through those trails a bunch of times.

I may head off with another rig or two and head out to Mortero Wash / Dos Cabezas or maybe Fish Creek Wash somewhere.

I am hoping another run opens up.

You should lead a run of your choice Eric. You have plenty of experience and I am sure other drivers would appreciate the opportunity to come along. :steer:

Some of the runs last year looked good, but didn't do any as we chose to hike Whale Peak and had a blast doing that. Not excited about running Oriflame and Rodriguez again after having just done them last month at the M&G and the fact that they are just about paved roads now. I haven't done the mines and am looking forward to that having missed it in '09. Hike to learn a little about the Marshall South family history Friday sounds interesting enough too. No heavy wheeling. Will try staying at the new campsite at Butterfield Ranch too. Hope it's not as damn windy as Stagecoach, but not holding out hope for that! Not extremely comfortable being up on Pinion Mountain alone, not that it's a difficult road.

Well, due to not being able to come to an agreement on the terms of the release of liability waiver, I most likely will not participate in any of the sanctioned runs.

Since I have already made arrangements to go out this weekend, I may lead a run on my own. Is anyone here interested in going on an improptu run, possibly around the Mortero Wash area or even Diablo Dropoff into Fish Creek and up to the base of Pinyon Dropoff? Heard that Diablo is pretty rutted right now.
