So i want to put on my blingy new 8247 cover as seen here. It is hitting the 2 bottom bolts on the solenoid. Whats the deal here. Do i need to find a diff solenoid or somehow mod it to allow the cover to fit?

That is not an original solenoid; they don't have bolts on the bottom like that. Probably someone replaced one with a Ford tractor solenoid or some such. Buy an original one from Warn, or replace them all with a contactor.

Don't have one for the solenoid, sorry, but I bet these guys could fix you up: Warn Authorized Parts and Service Center for the M8274-50 Winch

All four solenoids are the same, they're just connected differently for in or out.
If you call Redding 4WD (the folks in the link I posted above) they will get you the right solenoid. The part numbers in their exploded diagram (in the link page) are for late-model 8274's. The solenoids are slightly different. But they know all models and can take care of you.
