Hi all...while I was in Colombia, SA in 2008 I saw a very interesting FJ45. I am sorry I didn't get pics.
It was a "Nun" FJ45 from the late 60s. I was told by my friends in Colombia that this was a factory made FJ45. IIRC it had special seating in the way of only benches behind the front seats. It had a special rear door and a super rack that ran the entire length of the truck. It was in incredible condition. I was told it was bought new by a church to be used for the nuns. It was still in use by the church and I saw a nun driving it!
On the same trip I saw a mid-1980 Nissan Patrol that was also a "Nun" version. It very obviously had a special body on it. Shortly after I returned to the USA my friends down there sent me pics of a "Nun" version of the older 1960s Patrols which was very unique. This also had a special body and I was told it was original from Nissan.
So have any of you ever heard of these "Nun" versions before? Did Toyota make special bodies for the TLC? The Patrols I saw looked factory, especially the 1980s one.
