So last Sunday I used a bit of my time off and went up North and explored some of the map of Vancouver Island I haven't gotten to use before.
Took 8.5hrs to drive from Victoria to Cape Scott, taking our time and enjoying a few breaks on the way up.
The gravel road up north seem to be near flawless almost as good as the highway. VERY well maintained until you leave the main lines then things get hectic...
Here's some pictures please enjoy!
Our first free campsite a logging slash with a really nice *damp* lookout.
There were quite a few gnats at this spot but almost no mosquitoes!
Stopped in at Ronning's garden which is a garden that was collected and arranged by a settler over 100 years ago. Some of the plants hidden around this area are just amazing such as this massive rhodo.
Japanese Maple
One of North America's largest monkey puzzle trees. I can't even really explain how big this thing is! literally feet in diameter across.
Entrance to Ronning's Garden.
San Josef Bay
Thought this was a fitting place for a photograph...
Dunno what this massive shoe tree pile was all about but it was definitely a sight to see.
