Couple months ago I installed a Scan Gauge II in the LC and have been keeping an eye on the Coolant, Transmission, and Air Intake Temperatures.
While on a 70mph highway, 80F ambient air temp, unloaded/no passengers/cargo, and rolling hills I see coolant temperatures hover around 200F with as high as 207F on a long uphill, is this normal? The radiatior, thermostat, and waterpump were replaced at the dealer by the previous owner around 40K miles ago.
The FSM lists the thermostat opens between 79-82C (175F-182F), so shouldn't the coolant temp remain closer to the opening temp?
Air intake temps are usually 6-7F higher than ambient while cruising. Trans temp is usually 176F cruising, and 186-190 once the torque converter unlocks on hills.
What does everyone else see for temps?
