Noob alert

First post. First 80 series although I also own a 100. Got this rig after it was sitting for 7 years. Did not start. In process of replacing fuel system as it was roached. Before I spend a bunch of time effort and money replacing sensors can anyone help me with some (what appears to be) PO aftermarket alarm system???? I ripped tons of aftermarket wiring out already but found this black box attached with double sided tape and a zip tie. Assuming that’s not oem. It was attached to the oem cruise controller under dash panel drivers side. Can anyone help me figure what to do next. Wondering where these connection go etc. advise. TIA.

If you find Vampire Taps (the ones that bite through the insulation) you'll want to remove them, and put a dab of liquid tape over the hole(s) and probably a bit of real electrical tape too.

The other plugs you might find will be ones that were placed between OEM plugs, so as you disconnect the plugs on the security system harness look for the same colour wires with the other end of the plug you need and just put them back together.

If you find a wire from the black box that disappears into the far reaches of the dash and you need to cut it, put a cap on it; don't leave it cut and dangling.
