When cut really hard to the right, I hear a grinding noise coming from the left side of my LC. It seems to only happen when I turn right, and seems to come from the left side of my axle. Its not a popping or clicking noise, more like a soft noise that might be made if you were to change gears without putting down the clutch (although i haven't driven a stick in a while so i may be thinking of something else).

Any ideas what it is and what i should do about it?

Maybe a drive flange. Easy to check. Remove the dust cap and you might be able to see the stub axle spinning inside the flange. It would have a washboard sound.

Long shot but worth a look at.. A bent tie rod could rub on your u-joint when turning. Don't ask me how I know..
