Has anyone got any ideas about speedo on a 2004 100 series diesel Amazon suddenly not working. Went from normal to off, then back on again for a day then off. Sometimes comes back to life then off again. Gives the p0500 code and yellow engine light when it’s off. Yellow engine Light goes off if it comes back to life.
I’ve changed the speed sensor underneath, no change.12 volts going to sensor. Checked all the fuses. Checked the wiring at the back going to the trailer lights.
Is the drive cog inside the gear box supposed to free wheel when car is in park? You can poke your finger in, when speed sensor is removed and spin it easily.
Do the other two sensors above the speed sensor have anything to do with this problem?
