I have been repairing the damage from a battery hooked backwards by the family braintrust. Finally got it running with a newer coil module and replaced a few fuses. Now the charge light is on and the alt is not putting out juice due to no input of power.

The charge fuse does not have power. I understand that this is the issue, yet where does it get power? from a relay? from the ignition? have downloaded a charging circuit fsm pages from the faq yet there is no good EWD that shows where it gets power. CAn someone point out the finer points on fixing this?

Sorry this is on a 88 p/u that is a carb, 2wd super base model 4 speed. The fuse for the charge has 8.5v is this enough to trigger the field charge in the alternator? I think that it should be battery voltage not less, and that is my problem. Any ideas?

Thanks I now remember that!

yet it what would it have to with low volts at the fuse?
