Has anyone ever removed the projector and trim related to the Nightview system? Mine is functional (albeit antiquated), but it’s developed squeaks and rattles. I’m considering just removing it altogether. The obvious second question is: what can be done with the resulting hole in the dash?

ive never seen a solution to fill the hole in the dash. you'd probably have to 3d print something
Your best options are probably to get a regular dash (either trade with someone or from a junkyard) or just get a dash cover to hide it. I'm not sure how easy it is to remove the system, I've never seen anyone do it, which also means I've never seen anyone come up with a better solution for the hole.
If you're serious about removing it I'm sure someone would trade dashes with you, there's plenty of us who think Nightvision is neat, even if it's not the best performing.
