Nice small BBQ

I know Steveston Marine has occasional sales on their stainless steel BBQ but they still are around $200 for a very small unit. I know they last and are built well. I came across this though:

Costco has them for sale for $115, propane bottle hose and all. Actually well constructed, good size if not a little big, but if you're camping with more people or have more to cook it looks like it will do well. I'll be firing it up tonight and testing it out. First impression, for $115, very nicely built. All pieces are easily removable for cleaning, it appears to be made from the same stainless as their old tool chests usd to be and I've got one of those and it still looks great.
I know Coquitlam still has around 10-12 of them, they don't have them on the website and I think they are selling off what's left (they put them upfront) so I doubt they will get more in.

I was looking at those a couple of days ago and I was impressed as well.

Typically, if they are not going to carry something anymore or are blowing stuff out, the price will end in a 7, as in 114.97

My wife told me this and when it comes to shopping, she is never wrong.

Nice, well I just fired it up and am testing it, wow, that little sucker even on low gives off nice heat.

Well it does what a BBQ is supposed, grills food really well. Of course the heat shields changed colour after heating up and the burnt on juices/food are a little hard to scrape off but everything worked out well. for the price it could work well for the next fire ban scenario.

nope, no gear review, it's a temporary item in a chain store that might not carry it ever again, so I won't bother.

Yeah I was at costco as well, seemed a bit big. I have the force 10 or Kuuma one steveston sells, it is well made but could be a bit hotter.. Rahim manages the Kitsilano store, great guy.

I have one of the small Webber Q grills, it works fantastic and belts out a lot of heat, all cast aluminium body with cast iron grill. Easy clean up but its heavy 10-15lbs and rattles like crazy in the truck its also a rather odd shape that makes packing a pain some times. If there is no fire ban I just bring our fire top hand held grill, light and easy to pack.

I looked at the snow peak grill a few months ago and really like the look of that one its small and very very well built. Not sure how hot it gets though I only saw it and did not see it running.

yes, but twice the propane - but if you do not venture very far - not a problem

Or if you have a LWB and a high roof or tow a land anchor - not a problem.

I do have a small Colman BQ/Stove which works okay one or two people and doesn't use much propane. I also picked up a used camp stove like this one last year.

It is not a fuel miser but it sure is nice when you are cooking for a whole family.

I took a look last night at the SS BQ Mat referred to. Abbotsford has quite a few of them. If they are still around next month, I think I will pick one up. It is the perfect size and BTU output if you have more than 2 mouths to feed.

I have something lile this - grill and a burner (on mine the positions are switched). When needed, I use the grill as a second burner or as a 'keep warm' section, with 2 X 10,000 btu burners. I also have a single burner unit when needed or for 'quick get aways' in the morning. (the single burner produces more heat,
Both are fairly compact.

We have the same small Coleman stove/BBQ. I love it for the day trips or just cooking for two people.

My Snow Peak BBQ uses charcoal Jeremy. Not as convenient but tastes better IMO. It's also not great for NA style BBQ. You wouldn't want to toss a thick juicy steak on it. It's great for skewers and such.

Picked up one of those Costco ones in Abby yesterday. As I was looking them over a lady stopped and gave me her thumbs up on how great they are. They have a pallet full still.

FYI I was at the Abby Cosco and they were out of the BBQ's but managed to find some at the Mission MTF for $99.

There were still a lot of them in PG and Kelowna Costcos when I was there. If I can get out of Surplus Herbie's and PA, I'll might check out Kamloops Costco tomorrow. But I bet Abby will get some more in if they are such good sellers.
