Sequoias are a little bigger than a lc, personally i think the interior materials are not the same level of quality of those used in a lc such as leather, plastic, etc.... Sequoias are rear wheel drive while the land cruisers are all wheel drive. Overall i think that Sequoias are more made for making grocery store runs while a cruiser can get the grocerys and get you down most trails. it mainly depends on your applications.

Sequoias are just an SUV version of a Tundra, I'd get an LC instead. LC/LX are more exclusive IMO. I live in Southern California and I see about 8-10 Sequoias a day here on average, while I might see 1 or 2 LC/LX per day. I actually see more of the LX on a daily basis than I do a Land Cruiser.

The Sequoias are nice, but it's no LC. Sorry! Go drive a Sequoia, LC and Escallade and decide for yourself. I think the choice will be clear. Plus the LC is more exclusive and holds it's value better. As far as not seeing many LC/LX in SoCal, in CO I see them everywhere it seems!

You really need to drive each vehicle. The Sequoia is bigger than it looks and feels cheap inside compared to the LC. The LC feels cheap inside compared to the Caddie. Also consider if you plan on towing anything significant in size - The GM pulls with more power.

That being said, I have colleagues that have the Caddie and and Tahoes. The Caddie is actually a stiffer, rougher ride than my LC. I was surprised by this, but I think it is the low profile tires transmitting road conditions and firmer seats. There was also the problem with the variable valve system, where the truck would run on 4 cylinders when accelerating around town and then run on all 8 on the highway (completely reversed program).

Nothing beats getting in each vehicle and trying them out. When I was doing what you are doing, I found that the LC was jus the right size, between the Tahoe/Sequoia and 4Runner, as well as having very high quality fit and finish. All vehicles are expensive to fix these days. Mine has 126,000 miles on it right now and I still put around $2k into it this year for tires, brakes, bearings, timing belt, etc.

Good luck.

excuse my ignorance but is there an Oz equivalent of the Sequoia or is that a purely USA only vehicle?
where does it sit re: the Tundra, LC/Lexus ? bigger, smaller?
thanks

Sequoia is the SUV version of a Tundra, much like the Tahoe/Suburban is the (S)UV version of a Chevy pickup. Bigger than the LC with not much similarity in parts other than the engine and Toyota symbols.

. You can call my car wholesaler Sanje and he can find you one. I also took out the weather tech mats before I sold it so if you end up with one drop me a line and we can work something out.[/QUOTE]

sent you a PM.

I'm looking to buy an 06-07 LX or LC in the next 2 wks.

My .02 turbodiesel on the GM but i say DRIVE A CRUISER if ya want a US diesel do a swap .maybe one day uncle TOY will give us new ones like all the other automakers. Hence the words GLOBALLY SUPERIOR . If you want to make it home DRIVE A CRUISER . I drove suburbans for years do to the cargo space '78 my favorite with a detroit in the rear . In hind sight i'd get a troopy!!! The cruisers are far more advanced in capabilities than any GM product sans heavy load towing . Hey the 200's are cool and pimp.
My .02 hopefully creating more cruiserheads! Its a contagious disease

The thing about the Land Cruiser is the build quality. It is built like a swiss watch. Everything is nice and tight, but isn't going to thrill you (especially considering you are looking at the Sequoia and Escalade).

It is a well built truck, and I love it, but isn't going to have that roar from the V8 you are probably wanting (unless you talk to Loud).

AHC is not something to be feared. My 1999 has 155k and other than 1 sensor going back at 25k miles, nothing has been done to it. Granted, its spent 10/11 years in Socal and 1/11 in Florida, but I've gotten it nice and dirty.

I definitely would drive the Sequoia. Because if that is something you like, go for it. Its a great truck, with the same reliability and is better suited for families and highway driving.

The Land Cruiser is FAIR. No one is getting ripped off, but no one is getting a steal. The used car market has changed since last year. Almost every car is about $4k higher than 6 months to a year ago. Grossinger Toyota, in IL had a white 2007 Land Cruiser with 32k, which they couldnt unload for $32k last year. My friend bought it for $29k.
