Hey everybody,

New to the TLC world, but loving it so far, other than the drive from Joysie to Mississippi with my newly acquired FJ60.

My truck is pretty solid. However, it does have some things that need some work on, and I am mechanically inept.

Does anyone know of a good, reasonable mechanic, that has experience on FJ60's and/or carb rebuilds? I want to keep my truck as reliable and trouble free as possible, so I have drifted away from the Weber option after reading numerous posts.

Any advice is welcome. BTW, I live in Brandon (Flowood is actually what I'm closest to).

Thanks in advance.

Kurt

Kurt, Welcome!

Send an email to info@cottonlandcruisers.com and request to be added to the email list.

Plan on coming to the next club meeting. Meetings are always the 1st tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM at Left Field Sports Grill on Lakeland Drive in the Smith-Wills stadium.

For a mechanic in the area there are a few options. Graves and Stoddard in Pearl are a good option.

Most of us in the club do our own wrenching. I'd suggest pulling the carb off yourself (someone in the club can help) and sending it to Jim Chenoweth to have it rebuilt. He is well known in the community, and does a great job.

If you can keep it running till our next get together you might learn that your carb is OK but the issue is some other problem.

Others will chime in here for other shop options.

Welcome Sir. Do a search on the 60 forum for "Jim C" or "carb rebuild." He is the man and can rebuild it for about $200.

Welcome Kurt. Can't wait to meet you. If the club can teach me to turn a wrench, there is hope for anyone.

Welcome Kurt!

Nothing to add to the great advice above.

Look forward to meeting you and your 60 on 11/7.

We'll get it figured out. I will tell you that none of us are carb experts. Call me and I might be able to hook you up with a good mechanic. 601-954-9558. I live in Brandon so you could even come on over and visit.

Welcome!

Since you got that star...

lets see some pics of your 60!

Here are a few pics off the website I found her on.....

There is one on the Air Guard base that looks just like that one. Call me and I will hook you up with a mechanic that can build your carb.

Later,

Hey,

You must be the fella who put a TLCA card on my window, while parked at the Air Guard base... That's mine allright. I'm out of town, but I'll give you a ring this week.

Nice 60!! Lots of potential. Great find!

It's a small world I guess (or maybe I just know where all of the cruisers are). Give me a ring. Are you in the guard? If so, my # out there is 8570.
