Hey all! A couple of firsts for me. I picked up the first 4WD I've owned last week. A 1998 petrol 105 series Landcruiser GXL. And today the first diy mod on any car I've owned. I'm always willing to give stuff a go, but not hugely knowledgeable about fixing cars. I plan on changing that with this cruiser.

I'll likely change these to some bars at some stage but for the time being I'm happy enough with this. I fully expect it will chip and scratch but easy enough to touch it up. These side steps are pretty beat up so did my best to straighten them, cleaned them with a pressure washer and sanded them, then used some bull bar / brush bar low gloss black paint.

Thanks mate!

Yeah, I doubt they will hold up that long. I'll find some sliders or steel steps at some point. They are still a bit out of shape anyway so I wasn't too worried about messing around with them.
