Hello everyone just getting started here, I have a 2000 lx470 am 2nd owner 194k original miles. Loved the ride until the globes seem to have gave out recently. Thoroughly followed the ABC's of AHC and I'm only getting 5 gradations doing the test. That being said, I plan on swapping out the globes and was wondering if anyones had any experience with impex japan? I've seen they have the best prices for the AHC globes but still not sure with everything going on lately, if anyone can speak to a recent purchase it would be of tremendous help!

Yep, search Impex and you’ll find long threads about it. I got my globes from them a few years ago.

How has your experience been with them? Just wondering how fast they shipped and if they came in the OEM packaging, I read somewhere that, that is something we should really look out for..

Check pricing at Impex Japan, Amayama, and PartSouq.
PartSouq will most likely arrive the fastest, the Amayama, then Impex.
All 3 sell genuine Toyota parts.
I would not buy Aftermarket globes.

I use the following 36mm Crow Foot wrench to remove / install globes.

Spray the threads of the globes a couple times, starting 2 days in advance, with PB Blaster or similar.
Do an AHC Fluid change while you're at it.

Good luck.
Tom

Impex JP has good prices, but are slow. Hoping this might help new customers, I share my experience with them.
It's like a three stage process:
You put in an order and pay, with an estimated shipping cost.
They check for availability and delivery times (to them). You get info in their in-shop mailbox and a tickle to your email.
You then adjust your order by cancelling items that will take too long for your liking. An eventual lower total cost will be credited you, but staying with them on your account.
They get the items and only then calculates the actual shipping cost, which you get in their in-shop mailbox and a tickle to you by email.
You then have to pay additional for actual shipping cost if the estimate was too low (normally), or pay for the extra cost with credit from cancelled items.
It has happened to me that after shipping you might have to pay another adjustment when they find out that they were e.g. 2 $ off on shipping cost.

The information and messages have always been thorough and personal, although a bit hard to understand the first time, until I learnt their process.

Amayama and Partsouq are a bit easier to handle, and faster. I'm ordering from all three, and never had any bad experiences, other than lack of availability of some parts.

Thats great thank you! I do see that PartSouq is considerably more expensive than Impex. Still waiting to hear from Impex about total price including shipping and fees.

Have you bought the globes from them? Any idea how much you spent total on the parts, + shipping and fees? Just trying to get a ball park estimate as I do see them on eBay for roughly the same price but shipping seems to be a bit quicker. I would like them as soon as possible the pogo stick is driving me nuts lolol

Amayama gives you all of the pricing (parts, duties, shipping) up front.
PartSouq gives you all pricing except duties upfront.
On eBay, all you can do is read the seller's feedback, then hope for the best.
Last time I ordered globes I think the total was between $650 and $700 all in.

Thanks for this link, Amayama shows a diagram for my vehicle but the part number doesn’t match the one on a sticker on my globes. I’m assuming the sticker is the part number, the stickers are in a bad position to read but they all seem different. The prices seem great @ $137 each. The fronts appear to be higher @ $321 ea if I’m reading it right. There are numbers stamped in the metal but again difficult to read.

I've put in an "order" for amayama for all 4 globes front and rear each priced at $137.30 from Osaka Japan, as @Snow Wagon had mentioned. Excluding shipping my total right now is looking at $652.21 for 10kg weight, duties and fees. They said they are looking at my order and I have no shipping cost as of yet. I will update this once I do so anyone in the future can also reference.

I've also put in an "order" for Impex and have yet to receive a reply, but they have pricing at $118.96 per globe. On Impex I'm looking at roughly $585.23 for all 4 at a weight of 10kg plus shipping, but I don't have the duties and fees applied yet so I am expecting to see a price hike on that.

Running total's for me in Texas

Impex: 4 globes, 10kg, + shipping, no fees or duties -> $585.23
Amayama: 4 globes, 10kg + fees or duties, no shipping cost as of yet -> $652.21

Ebay: 4 globes + shipping from Japan -> $753

Will add updates as I get them.

Update, Amayama has gotten back to me saying "Sorry for the inconvenience, but we’re unable to process your order for accumulators since they’re not allowed for shipment.".

Has anyone experienced this before? I want to assume this is because of them having nitrogen gas? Sucks :/

I would not order parts from UAE based sellers, at this time. If you can even get order shipped. You may want insured. Look for cost to be ~70% (Ship+tax+fess, (without insurance)) over parts list price.

Out of Japan, look for about ~50% over parts list price. That's without insurance.

I've even had some Toyota parts. For the first time, just this year. Stated; Made in China on package, according to seller. Which can't be shipping with other non China parts. I just have them toss in the trash. Since cost would end up more than paying retail, at Toyota parts counter.

Elliminating globe, AHC system is another option. Knowing shipping costs and tariffs, this may play in your favor. Google Mud.
