Good morning - I currently own a '22 Tacoma and '20 Highlander and am looking at adding a '10 Sequoia Platinum (4WD) as a third vehicle, primarily for family long-haul trips.
In short, the Car Fax checks out.
-Maintenance has been done at regular intervals and appears to be thorough.
-There appears to be little to no rust on the undercarriage from the pics the seller sent me.
-Interior is in good shape.
-One small accident, a rear-ending without consequential damage.

The vehicle has 281k miles and is in a different state (I live in Miami, Fl).
They are asking $6,900.
I'm more comfortable around $5,000.

I do NOT know when the timing belt was last changed or the status of the ball joints. This would be discovered if / when I go see the vehicle.

I would like the boards opinion on the milage of the vehicle and what I'm willing to pay for it.
Considering the miles, I think it should still have plenty of life in it.

Does anyone feel the milage is too high?

Thanks,
Mike

There is a million mile Tundra that Toyota ended up buying back and disassembling to look at all the parts and found it was still serviceable. These things are tanks and will run for a very long time when fed and cared for properly based on the research I did before buying ours

2010 Sequoia (2nd gen) probably has a 5.7L V8 and therefore is going to have a timing chain. The 2nd gen Sequoias also have a revised LBJ that correctly applies compression, rather than the flawed first gen LBJ which may fail catastrophically under tension AKA front wheel rips off the front fender.
If I were looking at the vehicle, I'd look at the transmission fluid service history and the condition of the radiator..... likely needs to be replaced as preventative maintenance.

Rust starts at the rear upper end of the frame, behind the bumper. Salt gets there and stays forever. Very hard to wash off even when washing this spot specifically. I have an undercarriage power washer attachment with nozzles spraying like 150 degrees, it is still not perfect.

Thank you for the feedback, especially the radiator and where to look for rust.
